Modern slavery is a heinous crime. It includes slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking. The impact can be devastating for the victims. Croydon has the highest rate of slavery in London. Workshop Objectives At the end of the 2 hour session, participants will be able to: Define human trafficking & modern-day slavery Recognise different forms of exploitation experienced by trafficked people & people in modern-day slavery List common indicators of trafficking & modern slavery & how they might present Describe common health concerns experienced by trafficked people Discuss barriers to disclosure, including communication issues & difficulties in accessing services Recognise risks & safeguarding needs associated with trafficking & modern-day slavery Assess how to take safe, supportive & appropriate action Evening sessions 18th October 2018 24th October 2018 Time: 6 - 8pm Women only sessions 15th November 2018 26th November 2018 3rd December 2018 Times: 12 noon – 2pm Venue: Bernard Weatherill House 8 Mint Walk Croydon CR0 1EA
